I’m Celia Alves, a multimedia enthusiast with an M.A. in Journalism, I’m from Brazil, where my passion for visual storytelling took root. While in Brazil, I was privileged to contribute to the production of the documentary “Ivy Rupa – A Terra e Uma Só.” I further honed my skills with NET Cidade, x content spanning sports, news, and entertainment. Beyond media, I co-founded Prime Lang school, and among our esteemed clients were Thyssen Krupp Brazil and Aut Systemas.
In 2015, I relocated to the USA and immersed myself in Temple University’s renowned Journalism program. Here, I collaborated on riveting audiovisual projects like the “Same Family – Different Colors” multimedia project and the “Under Pressure” documentary, both with esteemed professors. My passion led me to internships at WHYY’s After School Youth Media Program, where I mentored students in filming and editing techniques, and at Friday Arts, assisting with interviews, rough cuts, and web videos.
Post-graduation, I took on a pivotal role at AL DIA News. My mission? To revolutionize their video production. Within a year, I amplified their video output by a staggering 300%, ensuring that most articles on AL DIA’s site were paired with compelling video content.
At my core, I’m a people person, thriving on team-building. My heart lies in volunteering and being part of initiatives that create a positive ripple effect in the community.
